Singapore Expo

The Singapore Expo is the greatest convention and trade show venue in Singapore and the best-equipped facility in all of Asia. It was constructed in 1997 and officially inaugurated in 1999. Due to its remote location relative to the previous Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (also known as Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre) and the untimely Asian Financial Crisis, the venues were underutilised for the first few years.

With the inauguration of the Expo MRT station in January of 2001, the venue received a significant lift, and by 2003, the Singapore Expo was compelled to proceed with its expansion plans due to the demand for a larger exhibition space. In addition to its existing area of 60,000 square metres, an additional 40,000 square metres were added.

To date, the Expo centre consists of ten large multipurpose halls, each with a floor area of 10,000 square metres, that are interconnected to offer a total of 100,000 square metres of column-free indoor space.

The venue also features ten conference facilities that range in size from 89 to 844 square metres and can accommodate 150 to 1,000 guests each. There are also small meeting spaces that can accommodate between 15 and 125 persons. The facilities feature a 10,000-square-meter open-air area suitable for outdoor events. It has a parking lot that can be converted into a 25,000-square-meter outdoor exhibition space and can accommodate 2,200 vehicles.

The Singapore Expo hosts over 600 events annually and attracts over 9 million visitors, including churchgoers who attend weekly services at the exhibition hall. At the Singapore Expo, Megatex, which is the most comprehensive and has the largest area in CE and IT, displays its newest products and innovations.
